My Host Mom from Training

This is a photo of my host mother from training, Irene. She's in the kitchen cooking. I trained in Moletji some six months ago, and my family was wonderful. A mother, father, 12-year-old sister, and 5-year-old brother. They helped me get my legs in South Africa. They also taught me about chicken feet (eating them). They gave me my African name, Lebogang. I am forever indebted to them, and I miss them a lot.

I ate chicken feet a couple of times. Lots of bones. It really freaked me out, like eating little baby arms so I don´t do it anymore.

Meagan,

Great Blog!! We love to see pictures of you and South Africa. I don't think I could do chicken feet - especially now that you've related them to little baby arms. :) I don't have your email address so here's our blog where you can see some pictures of James. He (and us too) misses you and talks about how "aunt Meagan's in south africa". Please send your email address when you get a second to me (your brother has a tendency to misplace things) at cody_amanda@bah.com. Love you - we will talk to you soon. Kevin & Amanda
